Dexter decides that he wants to be a part of his baby’s future, but when Astor asks why they’re not married, Dexter quickly throws a botched proposal Rita’s way and she declines. Later, Dexter finally finds the right way to propose and she accepts, although with Rita’s hormones sky rocketing, she ends up short tempered and fired after losing it on a hotel guest. Meanwhile, Debra is investigating the murder of a woman’s fiancé and disliking the way her partner is handling it. Debra continues to be stalked by Internal Affairs about Quinn. Elsewhere, Ramon, Miguel’s brother, is frustrated by the fact that his brother’s murderer has not yet been uncovered. Dexter proves to Miguel that Ramon cannot be trusted. Batista decides to pick up a prostitute for the first time in his life, but to his surprise is almost caught up in a police investigation. Masuka is giving a conference speech, but no one shows up to support him.
